Sticky posts showing in all search results

    I am trying to create a custom search results page. I noticed that whenever I use the search function, sticky posts are returned in the results, even when they don’t match any of the search terms. I deleted my search.php file and tried using the default WordPress page, but it also does the same thing. Any help?
