if you do it the way like you have explained, it will work for sure. Just leave “Ignore Sticky Posts” unchecked for the slider and check it for the other widgets. Please make sure that you have saved the widgets when you have checked the checkbox, otherwise the changes won’t take effect.
If it still is not working on your site, please check if you might are using a plugin which could cause this issue.

That’s the way I have them set but I still get duplicate articles showing. I’ll play around some more and deactivate plugins.

duplicate posts does not always mean that the posts are sticky. Maybe you have just assigned some posts to multiple categories.

Sorry it took so long to reply but the weather and other things have had me snowed under. No article is in more than one category, I deactivated all plugins and re-installed the theme. I still have the problem of the duplicate excerpts and links in the slider and Home widget areas.
Doesn’t really appear to be an answer.

sorry, but this is really weird. As I said, if everything is set properly, it will work fine. This theme has been downloaded more than 57000 times and no other users have this problem and I also can’t reproduce it. So it’s actually quite confusing that you are having issues like this.
The only thing I can do is to recommend that you check if everything is set properly, check your plugins or check if you might have a caching issue on your site.
When I check your site, then everything looks fine for me. There are only two duplicate posts in the slider compared to the other widgets (and you are showing 35 posts on the front page…), but these two posts might just not be sticky or anything else is not set properly. And to be honest, even if these two posts were duplicate, then I don’t think this is a big deal…as I said, you are showing 35 posts on that page!
But anyway, if you can’t figure it out, then please send me your admin login through our contact form and I will have a look.
