• Hi. I’ve made it through all the steps except the last which is driving me insane. I understand how it works – navigate with your browser to the install.php file in your site.
I’ve put the files in a directory called ‘blog’, but when I navigate, I get a 4o4 Not Found error from the browser. I write it out like this http://www.mysite.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php. This should work, but my browser can’t get there. I’ve checked and double-checked and all my files are in this directory. Am I completely missing something???
    Thanks in advance
    nadine

  • You’ve put all the files in a folder called ‘blog’
Did you have folders in that directory too ?
    wp-admin

Yes, all the wp files and their contents are within the ‘blog’ directory. They are arranged the same as when they are downloaded for the first time from WordPress.
The ‘blog’ directory is a folder I created in the root. This should be very simple, I know. I’m at a total loss!

Ok, I figured it out. I called up my host and it turns out I created my subdirectory the wrong way. Anyway, it’s all up and running now! Happy day!
