   I have successfully gotten through step one of my install of WP 2.7.1. (Mostly successful - I never got the usual email with my login details.) I have installed it at http://www.jkcohen.com/wordpress/. However, when I enter my admin name and password into the login screen that follows (wp-login.php), the data is posted to the malformed URL http://www.jkcohen.com/?step=2/wp-login.php, leading to a 501 Not Implemented error from the web server. What is wrong? How can I successfully log in?

   Having the same problem with XO Communications hosting (although I did get the email)

   It's trying to go to http://www.mydomain.com/?step=2/wp-login.php

   and returning

   501 Not Implemented
   We are sorry to be unable to perform the method POST at this time or to this document.

   Anyone?

   It's probably your end. First, clear your cache, cookies and history, and restart. And if you're using IE, see Error Message: Error 501/505: Not Implemented or Not Supported to check an IE setting.
