Was just wondering how does one go about looking up the personal Stats for a site? I would like to find out how many visitors (if any?) I have gotten since my site began. Do I need some sort of plugin to do that?

Yes, you need a plugin.
Google Analytics, Woopra or WordPress.com stats (which comes with the Jetpack plugin) can do that.
