It looks as if they’re gone, from inspection of the slim_stats table in phpmyadmin. Why would they get deleted on apache reload?

So what I need to know is which apache log files are read … and what happened to them.

There’s nothing in our source code that would trigger that kind of behavior. Are you sure you’re looking at the right tables? Maybe the connection with mysql is broken?

Ok, here is what I have:

Slimstat is logging new visits to the site, e.g. when I go through a proxy server and visit. It shows my visits and a couple others from way back in time over the past months. But the VAST majority of the data is just not there.

From what I can tell, Slimstat is reading other_vhosts_acess_log. I can see the new entries that it is reporting in the apache log. I also see many other entries that previously showed up in the Slimstat log that are not showing up, and they appear to have the same vhost information, i.e. http://www.mydomainname.org, attached to them.

How is the log processed into the mysql table? How does it choose to ignore some entries and process others?

    Thanks.

Ok. All the other older stats that are showing have a user attached to them. Is this an option I need to change?

WP SlimStat doesn’t access (and it couldn’t on most environments) access_log, it just logs each pageview directly in the database. Are you using any add-ons?

    Thread Starter iinnovations

    (@iinnovations)

Interesting, and I should have figured that. well where on earth have the data gone?

For Slimstat, I am not using any add-ons, no.

    (@iinnovations)

If all the older access information is in wp_slim_stats, it is indeed gone.

So for some reason, on reload the table was filtered. I checked it earlier this morning even, noting traffic at 00:18 and 00:32 server time. Immediately after apache reload, the data went away. I’ve got a bit of traffic on there now; I could try to replicate the flush.

For the record, this application is ridiculous. It’s so good it’s almost worth moving other sites to WP to use. Once I figure out which add-ons are useful I’ll defo buy some.

Thank you! 🙂 Sorry I can’t help with the data issue 🙁

    (@iinnovations)

Ok the stats just disappeared again, from what I can tell for no reason. How can I troubleshoot this? I can’t keep losing stats!

There is some purge that is happening that is only retaining records of identified users.

    (@iinnovations)

Which means it is definitely a Slimstats issue.

By default, a purge is done for data older than 120 days. You can find it under SlimStat > Settings > General.
