• Hi everyone,

I’m really at my wits end here with this problem. Last week I setup a development blog with a theme I was customizing so that I could smoothly transition this theme to my production blog. I added everything to the devblog, including WordPress Stats. Since that time, my stats for my production blog have stopped working. I have been searching the forums and found one post that dealt with removing a secondary blog from your account. I thought that might help me, but it turns out that you CAN’T remove that blog if you self-host your blog. I thought I would contact support for help, but it won’t even let me fill out the form without having a wordpress.com blog! This is really bothering me as I also use the popular posts widget…which has become completely useless right now. Could someone please help me with this problem or tell me how I can contact someone who can help?

    Thanks!

I haven’t heard back on any solutions, but I found a workaround for anyone else who runs into problems with their WordPress Stats. Since you are screwed if your WordPress account gets messed up and you self-host your own blog, the best thing is just to avoid using a WordPress account. I found a Stats plug-in called StatPress that is so much better than the WordPress version and it doesn’t require you to create an account and use that annoying key. StatPress also offers more options in addition to a built-in popular posts widget.

I hope that this will help someone in this situation in the future.

hi there. My WordPressStats.com plugin has stopped working too. Is this something to do with the upgrade to 2.6.5, as it seems to have occurred since the upgrade.

(ps thanks for tip to StatPress)
