    Hey Hugh Lashbrooke,

First Thanks for this easy and working Podcast Plugin!

But I want to collect some stats about my Podcast with Feedburner.
When I enter the Feed URL into Feedburner it throws this Error:

The URL does not appear to reference a valid XML file. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 33: XML document structures must start and end within the same entity.

Seems to me there is something missing in the xml file?!

I tried every possible URL I found in the Podcast Settings but no one works :'(

Would be great if you could help me!

    Thanks.

    Cheers Roman

    Hi Roman,

Could you please send me a link to your podcast feed URL? I will have a look at it and see if I can determine the problem. The issue could be that you have another plugin interfering with the feed, so please disable any other podcasting plugins on your site or any other plugins that deal with RSS feeds.

    Thanks,
    Hugh

Thanks for that Roman - the problem could be that you do not have any episodes in your podcast yet. I've done what I can to work around that being an issue, but it does sometimes cause a problem - please just confirm if you have any actual podcast episodes or not. If you do not then please add one and see if that fixes your problem.

If that doesn't help then please test for plugin and theme conflicts by doing the following:

    1. Set your site to use the default WordPress theme (Twenty Twelve)
    2. Deactivate all of your plugins (except Seriously Simple Podcasting) and see if the error disappears. You can then reactivate them one by one and see at what point the error comes back - that will tell you which plugin is causing a problem. If you have any other podcasting plugins installed then they are likely the main culprit.

Let me know if any of that helps.

    Regards,
    Hugh

I've got actually two Episodes in my Podcast.

Deactivated All Plugins and also set the default Theme (Twenty Twelve). Still got the same Error when editing Feed Details ins Feedburner.

When I load your feed directly in my browser now I no longer see the error, so I think either deactivating plugins or changing the theme has helped. You can see what I mean if you just click the link to your feed and view it as a web page - you will now see the full feed data with no errors. I imagine this means that Feedburner is caching the feed on their side so you are still seeing the error even though it is actually working now. My recommendatino would be to view the feed in your browser, then reactivate your plugins one by one and refresh the feed after each activation - when the error comes back then you will know where the issue is. Once you have fixed that for good then resubmit the feed to Feedburner and I'm sure they will recache it in their own time (I'm guessing that will be within 24 hours, but I don't know what their caching policy is).

I'm marking this as resolved because the error is fixed and the feed is working correctly now.

    Regards,
    Hugh
