    WP Ver.: 3.5.2
    Theme: Travel Blogger
    Site: aresnyc.org

Current Front page for the web site is essentially a 'who we are' type declaration. I'd like to use or move/copy this information to an 'About Us' menu item, so I can begin displaying recent posts on the home/landing page. Under 'Setting/Reading', the Front page is set to static with no Posts page indicated. The end goal is to have the Front page display Page excerpts in a typical Blog type listed format.

Before taking the big leap to convert Front page to 'Your latest posts', I'd like to know what gotchas can be expected.

Other question has to do with the display of excepts format on posts. Under the current theme, I can't manage to find a Dashboard setting which handles this automatically. Within the individual Pages, I am not seeing any sort of option either. Have comes across a few forum posts touching on this sort of functionality being a part of Child Themes. I this were I should start my research?

Inherited the management of this site recently. Want to get the structural stuff nailed down before tweaking the cosmetics. I'm more versed in Joomla with little WP exposure. Looking forward to learning the WP of doing things. Kudos to the folks who maintain the Support site since its much better organized than Joomla's.

    Thanks in advance

Plunged right into it without any feedback and it went well. All my concerns were taken care of by the software automatically without any major tweaks.
