So I have been hacking away at the new wordpress, but one thing that still escapes me is the ability to have the same theme and sidebar settings/widgets throughout the entire network of blogs. I want a uniform look and feel throughout every site and blog.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. You can do the same theme, and the same sidebar. But not widgets.

Basically I want all user posts and content to be within the same 'skin', thus the entire network has uniform style and appearance.

Basically having the super admin be the only one to set controls on appearance of all user blogs.

  4. Right, you can use one theme across the entire network. You'll just have to code what you want in sidebar.php without widgets.

    Set the default theme:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpmu-new-blog-defaults/

Disable all other theme in Super Admin -> Themes.

Each site is virtual. There is only one copy of the theme used for every single site.
