• I’m curious as to the feasibility of using a network install of 3.0 (multi-user) to create replicated websites (typical of MLM companies). This would consist of a company website with many pages (about, products, research, etc.) as well as a company blog. Each user, then, would have a website created under a subdomain (as per typical multi-user WordPress installation). The big difference being that each user has the exact same static pages (about, products, research, etc.) as the main company site, but each site has its own blog.

    Any ideas?

http://goo.gl/3lph – this is a similar idea, only with static blog posts instead of pages. I’m fairly certain the workaround wouldn’t work in this situation…

While I think a multi-user installation would facilitate this much easier, I’ve also thought of using a single-site installation where authors’ posts would be displayed on the blog page only if people typed in a ‘subdomain’ tied to them (it wouldn’t be a true subdomain, but a wildcard domain passed into The Loop as a filter of some sort…). I haven’t really fleshed out this approach much, so any ideas are welcome.
