• Helo,

I am having some trouble with my

Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Display static page

Settings (sorry if I mis-labeled it a little bit). What is the difference between the two options under the “Static page” section? It seems like when I choose a page for the “Front”, I see the change from my WordPress blog, but when I choose a page for the other option, I do not see any change.

My main thing is, I like my WordPress front-end’s homepage—-it’s vrey nice, so I want to keep it in place. However, I would like to add some source code to a portion of it because I would like some specific stuff from another page of mine to be listed there just above my blog entry on my homepage.

It seems like it’s hard to finagle with the HTML without re-inventing the wheel of what my WordPress front page looks like, because like I say, I want it to be the exact way it is NOW, I just want something added to it. What would be the best place to manipulate the HTML/ or utilize the “Static page” option in order to do what I am trying to do?

I am sorry for the long message, and if I need to clarify anything, let me know.

    Thanks, God bless.

Specifically I would like to know, if I were to sort of import my source code from how my WordPress is right now into a piece of software that’s like an auto-HTML generator, and then just also add the piece from the other page that I want included; and I take ALL of that and build up a “Static page” in WordPress and apply it to my front page of my WordPress, will changes I make within my WordPress dashboard be automatically updated whenever I change anything from it? Or would this static page be just that, totally unchanging, and I have would have to manually re-do this every time I wanted to change the page at all? Like for example, if, someone left a blog post, would it automatically be placed like a normal blog post would be, or since I have a static page assigned, would I have to re-build this whole thing and re-apply it?

Hi there, no idea if can help or not but… note this..

I got mad developing the new version of my website http://www.artphotoasia.net .
After I have installed tons of plugin with no problem at all I suddendly got the problem with the reading settings of WP some options were missing (the option to decide if you want a page or a post in homepage).

    Finally I solved the problem…

    1) the issue is NOT releated to any plugin
    2) the issue happen if you have deleted ALL your static pages, after this event the option WILL DISAPPEAR and WILL NOT come back.
    3) the solution is first of all create at least a couple of static pages then DEACTIVATE and REACTIVATE all the plugins… no idea why but it works also with the last WP version.

    Bye
