Static page fix? (2 posts)

I have a problem with my static page, the one shown when my title is clicked. It shows the default about page I was given day 1, yet this page has since been moved to the trash. When I click on "edit", I'm denied access because of it's existence in the trash. However, My trash folder is empty - and I restored my one "Hello World!" post that was in there.

I think the easiest fix to this is to re-choose my static page. How can I do this? Or, if I can restore the "About" post from some unknow trash folder, then I can edit it accordingly.

    Thanks in advance for help!

Your pages are edited in the "pages" area, and the posts, the "posts" area. So they have separate trash folders. Go to Pages >> Trash and click "permanently delete" for your old about page.

You can change the static page that displays as your front page at Settings >> Reading.

It's possible that your theme developer made a permanent link to the about page in your navigation, in which case you would need to find it in your theme's header.php file and delete it. You can reach this at Appearance >> Editor.
