    Hey guys,

in WordPress Dashboard Settings -> Reading I have set "Front page displays" to "Your latest posts", which is the desired behavior.

The problem now is that the <title> tag of this front page always carries the title of the last blog post. Instead, I would like to define my own static title and meta tags for this front page. How do I accomplish this?

(I've searched the web and the plugins, but did not find a simple solution to this simple problem. Also, I want to keep the "your latest posts" setting, because other settings will bring undesired side effects...)

This question still is important to me and maybe to others, too -- any suggestions are very welcome!

The problem is in your theme's header.php template file.

    No, it's not :)

The problem was the plugin TGFI.net SEO, which screwed up the title and meta tags of the landing page.
