What is the best practice to create Static Homepages (or any pages)? I did check the forums and found some references but couldn't figure out which were most relevant for the latest release of wordpress.

if you want a static homepage. Create a home.php file in your theme directory and add whatever you want.

Posted 6 years ago #Another alternative is the static homepage plugin by Semiologic.com. It places any post or page with the slug of "home" as the default/home page.
