When I updated to the newest version of WordPress, there is now a "leave a comment" section on all of my pages. How do I make this go away on some pages, but leave it active on others? I have the settings so that my home page is a static page, but the update seems to be trumping that setting.
Uncheck the comment option on that page.
Go into your posts and edit a post you want to have no comments.
On the upper right on the screen, see where it says Screen Options? Click that.
In the 'Show on Screen' options, check 'Comments'
The option to allow comments will show up :) Uncheck the box.

The comment option box on all the pages is already unchecked in the "screen options" section...other thoughts?

No no. CHECK the box in 'Screen options.'
The find the DISCUSSION widget on the page and UNCHECK comments. You need the screen option box checked ;)

Okay, The comment box in the screen options section is now checked, but I don't have a discussion widget on any of my pages...unless I'm just not looking in the correct place. I had everything set to be a static website with no comment sections, but something changed with the upgrade to the latest version of WordPress.
