Static frontpage "?" url parameter URL language information

Maybe is not a bug, or is a well-known behaviour.
I’m using a static frontpage, and I have unchecked the “Hide URL language information for default language” option in the settings.
What it happens is that when the URLs are called with the “? + parameters” then you get a 404 error page or a continuos redirection loop.

Made a test with a fresh installation of WP: activated Polylang (latest), created two languages (IT + EN), added a “frontpage” page (in both languages). Then unckecked the “Hide URL language information for default language” on Polylang settings.

When then I make a new post/page ad click on the preview this url is called:
/?page_id=13&preview=true
which gets redirected (302) to:
/en/frontpage/
which is the home/front-page, not the preview of the draft/page!

Is the “Hide URL language information for default language” option not compatible with static frontpages?

I reproduced this bug. Could you try with the current development version (0.9.4.1)?

Now the draft/preview url is handled correctly:
/?post_type=training&p=477&preview=true
and it shows the correct custom-post-type page.

But not all urls are handled correctly. Using a plugin like the “Password Protected Page” (same clean installation) and calling the homepage redirects to an infinite-loop. Here you can find the HTTP dump:

Could you test the development version (0.9.4.4)?

I did not test with the plugin “Password Protected Page”, but hopefully it should solve this issue.

No, with the “Password Protected Page” plugin there must be some kind of incompatibility or wrong url-redirection.

This time, I made the test. That’s true that the problem with this plugin is not the same as the one solved previously.
So again a new development version to test (0.9.4.5).

PS: can I use this development version in production, or better to wait an official release?

It mainly includes bug corrections, so it should be as safe as 0.9.4. However, it’s always better to make a database backup before any upgrade.

I’ve the same problem with page preview. I find this topic on your code (core.php line 263)
page preview are called like this : mysites.com/?page_id=89&preview=true
there is no $_GET[‘p’]

I’ve changed this part of code and it’s working
