How do you give WP it’s own directory when the front page is a static page?

The “Giving WordPress Its Own Directory” codex gives instructions that apply when the front page is the blog.

Please advise how to handle copying/revising the index.php page to the root directory when the front page is a static page.

    Thx.

  • if the front page is a static page, set through settings->readin, it will affect nothing

The index.php you move and modify while ‘giving WP it’s own directory’ is not the index.php from your theme

It is the WP root index.php, it just tells WP to load

The instructions will remina the same, and WP will function exactly as it should, including using your static front page
