[resolved] StartLogic VDeck Installation Problem (13 posts)

The installation through startlogic seemed to be successful, but when I try to access the admin site to manage it I get an error (500 internal server error: The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log. )

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Going to http://www.monkeybingoblog.com/wp-admin brings up the database needs upgrade screen. Do you see that?

I hadn't seen that, thank you! I just did the upgrade, but am still getting the error. Obviously I haven't provided enough usueful information (very, very green user), so I'm trying to figure some more to add to the post. I just thought maybe other people had some similar experience with the startlogic install.

Go into your site admin (provided by your host) and look at the error log. That should point you somewhere.

    There's a cgi_error_log. It says:

WordPress database error Table 'monkeybingo.wp_terms' doesn't exist for query SELECT t.*, tt.*, tr.object_id FROM wp_terms AS t INNER JOIN wp_term_taxonomy AS tt ON tt.term_id = t.term_id INNER JOIN wp_term_relationships AS tr ON tr.term_taxonomy_id = tt.term_taxonomy_id WHERE tt.taxonomy IN ('category', 'post_tag') AND tr.object_id IN (1) ORDER BY t.name ASC

If I look at the database I see a wp_terms table. However, the database name is wordpressmonkey, not monkeybingo.

Should the table names correlate with the database name or what you named the blog during the WP install?

Th db name needs to be correct in the wp-confg.php and it must be or you would be getting a different error. (if it is really there) You can check all the files thru your host admin.

You upgraded from what to what?

CGI and dbs are beyond me so hopefully someone else will jump in here. I am thinking the time looking and poking around before the install was truly finished may have broke something. You might want to do the install again.

The upgrade was from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3.

Do you happen to know if it's a problem to install WP to a domain that's a subdirectory instead of a home directory in the host's domain pointing manager?

There were only 5 files that changed. Some just changed the files rather than going thru the upgrade proceedure.

It does not matter if WP is in a subdirectory. I have two domains with WP in subdirectories.

Thanks for your help! I'll try the install again and run the upgrade sooner.

I reinstalled Wp and it was successful. Thank you! I can access the blog through WP_Admin and all seems correct. However, if I click 'view site' through WP_Admin I get the message the the site is under development. I get the same message if I go directly to the url. Any ideas?
