Stars won't load after WP v.3.6 update

When I noticed the rating feature was not functioning I updated the plugin. When it still didn’t work I updated wordpress to no avail. I tried deactivating it and reactivating it. Then I tried deleting the plugin all together and installing it new. Nothing has worked. I consistently have problems when I update this plugin, how I get it to function?
