Standard WordPress Cron Jobs

I currently have a dedicated web server with 1and1, however any websites that I have running on it, the default cron setup on WordPress doesn’t work, and i’ve had to enable the alternate cron to get it to work, however this causes the ?wp_doing_cron to appear in the url.

I’ve tried to figure it out through the server settings and by calling 1and1, but with no luck. Does anyone have any idea why this may not be working? On another package hosted with 1and1 (not a dedicated server) this does work however. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
