  • Hi – I too have the same stack overflow issue and DO NOT have Akismet installed – it started with v2.1 and did not go away with the 2.1.1.

Others can post to the blog with no issue. I upgraded to IE 7.0 hoping that it would resolve the issue to no avail.

Any suggestions in how to corret this issue would be greatly apprecaited.

I too am having this problem. Here are the symptoms.
    1) The site was upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1.2

    2) I go to edit a page and add carriage returns.

    3) In firefox, if I save the page, I get a message asking me if I want to navigate away from the page.

    4) If I do the same thing in IE6, I get a message stackoverflow at line: 500

I used to get this error but solved it.

It is most likely caused by two or more instances of prototype.js is loaded, one for WordPress core and one (at least) for some plugin(s).

You can look in your source to see what plugin is using its own prototype.js and then comment out that line in that plugin.

Does this work for any other stack overflow errors? Mine occured after u/l 2.3, finding problems, dumping and then u/l the older version.
The categories no longer show up.
I use the widgets sidebar. When I head to that page and can see that the categories widget is missing, once the page finishes loading, the widgets re-arrange themselves and the stack overflow message appears.
Did not add any new plug-ins, etc.

    Any suggestions?
