• I downloaded the plug-in for SRG Clean Archives from http://www.sporadicnonsense.com/2005/04/28/clean-archives-plug-in/ . Uploaded it to my wp-content/plugins directory and activated it.

Now I’m trying to get it to actually work on my archives page but it keeps showing the code instead of executing the command. The website says I just need to put < ?php srg_clean_archives(); ?> on my page to have it work, but I’m missing something obvious because that’s not making it happen.

Thanks; I hand-typed (instead of copying it) into my post here. I have it correct on my page and tried it again but no luck so far. I appreciate the suggestion though!

If you put it in the Page, i.e. Write > Write Page … it won’t work.
You should put the code in the archives.php template – which is, BTW, a Page template.
see Pages > Page templates etc.

Oh that’s so obvious now! That’s half (well more than that) the problem. The theme I’m using doesn’t have an archives.php template included. I was trying several out and it’s not set up in this one so I need to do that before putting the code in.

But at least I’m on my way now. Thank you so much!
