Hi all, wondering if you could assist with an issue I’m having.

I backed up my site a while back and lost everything.. I have the backup saved on the dropbox site which is great, only one issue.

The .crypt for the SQL DB well is encrypted and I for the life of my cannot remember putting in a password. Is there anyway around this, or even a way to get an idea of what it might be?

Thank you for all your help.

Thank you for your reply David, sadly it seems there’s nothing I can do but to restart the whole design process and content of the site :(. Didn’t even know the software saved it as .crypt.

    Cheers

Hi David.. I remember the password to the .crypt. Now I’ve an issue with the DB.

    Unpacking backup…
Decrypting database (can take a while)…
    Database successfully decrypted.
Restoring the database (on a large site this can take a long time – if it times out (which can happen if your web hosting company has configured your hosting to limit resources) then you should use a different method, such as phpMyAdmin)…

    Cleaning up rubbish…

I think this might be because the name, ID and pass of the original DB is different to the new one. Maybe??

    Hi gbyrne2011,

The “Database successfully decrypted” message is a red herring – the ensuing results indicate that it wasn’t, and thus the remembered password isn’t the right one.

    Thanks for your reply David.

Why did it say successfully completed?

Starting to think I’ll never get this password, lol.

    Cheers
