[resolved] SQL Database migration from WAMP to MAMP, How is this? (8 posts)

    Hello,
    I want to migrate localhost offline server of WordPress from Windows to Mac.
    i did backup all websites and databases from WAMP on Windows, and in MAMP i made new database and import the old one into it, but this is not working.
    THE QUESTION IS : How do i transfer mySQL database from WAMP to MAMP.
    Any advice will be appreciated, i really need help with this.

    This is exactly how to do it.

    but this is not working.

    What is not working? What error are you getting?

    make sure the path of your windows site mirrors the mac site, that would fix the issue.

    I need solution for this case but i don't know what it is.

    Here is a very simple way. Just export the sql. Go to export, put all of the sql into notepad. Then Copy and paste all of that sql into the MAMP DB.

    If your localhost website is not working then your configuration is wrong. Make sure you are using the right IP. I am not as familiar with Mac so if you could be more detailed I'll try to help.

    Did you transfer your database objects successfully? If so, tell us. Now if your only problem is accessing the server locally tell us that to.

    Try restarting Apache, or whatever web server Mac uses.

    I'll try this then tell you, i hope it will work.
    also..
    i will try another way. will try to modify the sql file manually, and replace "localhost" with "localhost:8888" let's hope this will work.

    it goes right and worked when i change the ports in MAMP "set to default apache and mysql ports".
