    is there anywhere i can download a video or a pdf user manual for the theme? there are a couple of cryptic points that i can't really figure out like adding multiple images to a post, making the menu color darker etc...

    There is no "user manual" for this theme as far as I am aware.

    making the menu color darker etc

    That level of customisation is not (that I know) available in the dashboard.

    the menu text is extremely light on this theme as is the footer. is there an easy way to darken this or change color? also is version 1.07 the latest version of this theme?

    Would you rather the menu and logo didn't fade in from the light colour? That could be a solution, but I'm not sure if you're okay with that.

    hi andrew. my menu is just all white on a white background....when i try to change the bkg color only the top half is changed and not the bottom which is a bit unsightly. is there a way just to make the menu and footer text red for example?

    You can change the menu and footer text any colour, but considering that it is by default almost black (and black having most contrast on white) you won't see the text easier.

    Would you rather get rid of the fade-in effect? You can change the colour afterwards, but I'm focusing on your issue that you cannot see the text to begin with.

    Install this Custom CSS Manager plugin and use that plugin's section of the dashboard to hold this CSS:

    #masthead { opacity: 1; }

    Add this to the Custom CSS Manager bit:

    .main-navigation a { color: red; }

    To clarify, could you post here all of the code that you have in your Custom CSS Manager section?

    Try installing this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-google-font

    Then in that plugin's section of the dashboard, follow steps 1 and 3.

    In the example screenshot (above) when 'Reenie Beanie' is selected from step 1, step 3 should contain this CSS:

    .main-navigation a { font-family: 'Reenie Beanie' }
