    Hi all

    on the facebook developers page

    [ Moderator note: link fixed. ]

    http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/

    I generated a plugin code for a facebook like button and
    I'd like to put it in the footer of my website so it appears on every page so I assume I need to pt it in my child theme footer.php file?

    However it doesn't seem to be appearing on the website, perhaps because i've pasted it in wrong section of the file? I've tried various locations. Do I need to put anything in my css file too?

    The code generated is like so:
    <div class="fb-like" data-href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/30filla/224828950995291" data-send="false" data-layout="box_count" data-width="90" data-show-faces="false"></div>

    The child theme footer.php is as follows:

    <?php
    /**
     * The template for displaying the footer.
     *
     * Contains the closing of the id=main div and all content after
     *
     * @package Spun
     * @since Spun 1.0
     */
    ?>

    	</div><!-- #main .site-main -->

    	<footer id="colophon" class="site-footer" role="contentinfo">
    		<div class="site-info">
    			<?php do_action( 'spun_credits' ); ?>
    			<a href="http://30filla.com/" title="<?php esc_attr_e( '', 'spun' ); ?>" rel="generator"><?php printf( __( 'Copyright 2013 © %s', 'spun' ), '30filla  All rights reserved' ); ?></a>
    			<span class="sep"> | </span>
    			<?php printf( __( '%1$s by %2$s.', 'spun' ), '<a href="http://carolinethemes.com/" rel="designer">Spun adapted', '30filla</a>' ); ?>
    		</div><!-- .site-info -->
    	</footer><!-- #colophon .site-footer -->
    </div><!-- #page .hfeed .site -->

    <?php wp_footer(); ?>

    </body>
    </html>

    thanks

    I couldn't say without seeing the site with the code installed. Have a URL?

    Hmm, I'd guess their code isn't working for whatever reason -- it appears you've inserted it correctly, and I don't see any styles in the theme that would interfere with its display.

    Try pasting it into HTML view in a regular post or page, and previewing -- does it show up?
