• When I put ‘[spiffy-upcoming-list]’ short code into a text widget nothing is rendered. I literally just get text “[spiffy-upcoming-list]” displayed. It looks as if spiffy calendar isn’t activated (but it is, read on).

None of the other short codes function on this page either. The short codes do function on another ordinary page I setup to display the calendar, so clearly Spiffy is up, there’s just something not quite right.

The calendar is activated and I have enabled the calendar option to show upcoming event for 45 days and I have events entered for the next 3 days. I have attempted to uninstall and re-install the plug-in.

I know that this works. I have two versions of a site I’m putting together and the upcoming event list works just fine on one of them (in a text widget).

Any ideas how I might debug this?

BTW – I will add that I thought I had this working and then I changed the day of the week start from Monday to Sunday and it stopped. I really can’t say for certain this happen – only that it felt that way.

I’ve half solved my own issue. I have found that I can use the “Upcoming Events” widget without issue, but I still like to know why I can use the short codes on one of my sites but not the other.

I suspected that there might be a collision between plug-ins so I deactivated all the plug-ins except Spiffy and that didn’t change anything.

    Am I missing switch?

I don’t think text widgets process shortcodes. There may be a plugin that allows you to use shortcodes in a text widget.
