Speed up Page Management screen (8 posts)

I have released a hack that greatly speeds up the loading of the Page Management screen when there are a lot of pages (ie. 50+). On one of my sites that has over 100 pages, it went from taking 30 seconds to load to two seconds.

I am not knowledgable about plugins, but if someone thinks this could be released in plugin form, that is certainly something I would be interested in doing.

    I think it's a modification of edit-pages.php in wp-admin. I'll give it a try.

UPDATE: I don't have a lot of pages, so I don't experience a faster loading time!
But you can just replace the edit-pages.php file.

Yes, you have to upload it in the /wp-admin/ directory of your blog.

Oops. Looks like I forgot to include the readme.txt file in the packages. I will also put the installation instructions on the web page.

But yes, you put it in the wp-admin directory. I would recommend renaming your current edit-pages.php file to something like edit-pages.php.original in case you want to revert back to it sometime. (Like when upgrading.) If you've already replaced the orignal file, fear not, you can just download wordpress again and take it out of there.
