I am working on a wpmu site. I need to offer only few specific no of categories to my child blogs to post on, so that it'll be easy for me to show them on my parent blog by using site-wide-tag plugin.
I have searched a lot of plugins but they don't work. few of them only serves to manage role, or restriction on category access.
Please tell me is there any plugin exist or I have to edit the wordpress scripts manually. But I am not good at coding.

Use this plugin to set default categories:

It will not prevent the users from adding more, becasue that does not exist.

thanks Andrea for your quick reply. Let me try this and I will let you know the result, obviously it'll succeed. ha ha.
well I undergone another problem. all the blogs,including the parent blog, lost all the posts. I tried to look it in the database and they exist there. but the posts are not visible on blog. After couple of hour the parent blog is showing the post retrieved earlier using site-wide-tag, but not the child blogs.

Yes I tried the plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpmu-new-blog-defaults/ . It surely helped me in setting default categories. but I also want to disable the "add new category" option. So is there any other way to this?
The only way I know of is to make them Authors, so maybe you could use some role-editor and remove that level of access?
