Spam comments appearing on deleted posts

I have a shop using the latest version of wordpress and the latest version of jigoshop.

In the past couple of days i have been inundated with spam comments on one particular product which has been deleted.

I’m wondering how this can happen when that product has actually been deleted.

Is there a simple way of stopping this happening?

Any help would be much appreciated
