One of our clients has added a people page, with photos and text for each person.
The problem is the spacing and layout when they publish is different to that of the editor - even things such as the number of lines spaced between people.
Any ideas or help how to sort out so that all the people are evenly spaced?

Often with multiple pictures I use a table to hold images that are cropped to the same size.

Use a different editor
You can use Windows Live Writer or MS Word
To publish directly to wordpress
There's also several other advanced WordPress plugin editors.

I was thinking of a table.
I didn't know you can use MS Word and such to publish to direct WP

Good to hear. The WordPress editor is limited and i have found Windows Live Writer to be easier to work with
I also use MS Word when i need something extra inserted in a blog post like a graph or diagram
