Spacing around images in Blog (8 posts)

    I'm putting images in my blog, but even though I enter text for spacing, the text runs right up to my images. How can I fix that? For instance, this is what I enter when I insert an image: <img src="http://www.heligirl.com/leavenworth.jpg" align="left" vspace="20" hspace="20" alt="Where we’ll spend the weekend." />

    Thanks for any help you can offer. :-)

    Add this to your image tag, tweaking the margin size as necessary:
    style="float: left; margin: 1em"

    Vspace, hspace, and align are deprecated HTML attributes. I'm not sure they're even supposed to work in XHTML (which is what WordPress works in by default).

    Vspace, hspace, and align will invalidate your page if your concerned about suchn things,

    How about a Polaroid type border around your images? Scroll down half way on this page.

    The instructs are for using the cSS inline but you could just add it as a class in your style sheet.

    You could also try this method, that would add a drop shadow to your image.

    Is there a reason that the link Lorelle provided doesn't work in Firefox?

    Thanks yami. I must have slipped on the anchor tag, but I was linking to a discussion but the article in the Codex says the same thing as the discussion, more or less.

    Thanks for catching that for me.

    JAMN HINGERS! ;-)
