  • We have been through this before. You have used a pro web designer, you have a table based layout and the last time I looked you had 250 validation errors. Best speak to your designer.

Thanks for the advice, but there may be someone else in here who can help me. Unless having a custom-designed blog bars me from entering the forum, I’ll probably ask more questions. Is that OK??

Well last time you seemed keen to side step the real issue. It has got nothing to do with your choice. A degree though of professional etiquette might prevent you from getting a frank appraisal of your blog. And heaven knows it needs it.

Actually I wasn’t side-stepping anything. I asked questions about font sizes, spaces, etc., in the design and how-to forums. I don’t think validation errors or a table layout would prevent others from advising me on such matters.
I also posted on “My WordPress”, asking for appraisals. If “professional etiquette” prevents frankness, I certainly have no control over that. You don’t seem to have a problem with it at all. If I seek more appraisals of my blog, I’ll certainly post the request in the appropriate forum.

Yes but an accurate understanding of how your blog is put together is preventing you from fixing your links (the question you pose here) and it is making it very difficult for any one to help you.
You did not get an answer last time. There was a good reason for that. No responsible designer can help you with anything to do with positioning while the validation is so bad because the effects of any changes suggested are going to be wholly unpredictable.

As mentioned when I provided a fast and dirty fix for your last problem, the layout you are using is *not structurally sound*. You will continue to have a never ending list of problems– you have put something on the Web that’s built on sand.
Give it up. Use the wp-default layout, one of Root’s layouts, or any number of others that are available. You’ll find things will work much better. When, and if, problems occur they will be easy to remedy quickly and efficiently.

And I miscounted. It was over 500 validation errors. 🙂

Thanks, willneea. I’ve got my validation errors down to 4, but I’ll take the suggestion of using a different layout under advisement.

@ La -Shawn. I would like to help. If you email me at blog at atthe404 dot com
I will try and explain the issues.
