Okay, I hope somebody here can help me with this because it’s beaten me.
I’m using the Plainscape theme, although the same thing happens with the WordPress Classic theme.

If I add two images to a post or page they display just fine with the padding around them set to 2px.
    See here: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8288/goodqpw.jpg

But as soon as I add a space between the two, either by going into the editor and just pressing space bar or   a gap appears at the bottom of the two images.
    See here: http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/1449/badf.jpg

I found a fix to the problem is that if I add line-height:0px; to the div containing the images (.entry) then the gap disappears, but then obviously that causes the posts and pages that contain text to display wrongly.

Does anybody have any ideas? I would appreciate any help.
I just want a small gap between the two images without changing anything else. If there is a better way to do it then just adding a space between the images then please let me know.
    Thanks

Yes – use the Gallery option to publish those two images.

    What is the gallery option?
Do you mean the insert image icon above the textarea? If I use that it makes no difference.
    Thanks

In the Add Media Interface, if you have more than 1 image uploaded/associated against the post, there is a Gallery tab. At the foot of the popup box, there is a button “Insert gallery”. This will publish all the pages currently listed against that post and may automatically take care of a lot of the multiple image positioning problems you seem to be having now.
