   I started a blog with the "sort uploads into folders by month/year" option UNchecked. I didn't think I'd have that many uploads. A year later, the site has evolved, and I'm uploading content several times a week. My uploads folder is a cluttered mess. Any idea how to sort them into folders based on upload date and have their links and references updated to match, if possible?

   I imagine such a plugin would follow this outline of actions:

   1. Identify creation date for each uploaded file
   2. Move file to appropriate folder
   3. Update file's metadata in MySQL database
   4. Search/replace all blog posts referencing old URL

   Given its potential one-time application, perhaps some sort of script could also do the job.
