[resolved] sortable post menus (3 posts)

    I am writing a plugin that adds a menu to the edit post page of the wordpress GUI. My menu displays under the Post Authors, Excerpt, Custom Fields, and Post Revisions menus. These menus are sortable (drag & drop) but mine is not. is there any way to allow the user to sort my menu? Is there any way to specify, in my plugin, an order for these menus to display? For instance, I would like to have my menu appear, by default, above the Post Revisions and Post Author menus.

    Looks like you can only specify an area for that box to be placed, either in the 'normal' area or the 'advanced' area, then the user will have to 'drag and drop' to a more specific place.

    See Function_Reference/add_meta_box for example and look at the http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/page-links-to/ for an example of adding a meta box.

    Thanks, those links help. Trick is to use the add_meta_box instead of what I was using:

    // incorrect
    add_action('edit_form_advanced', 'myplugin_post_options');
