sometimes uploading files does not show the edit link

Hello there. I have an odd one. I have some files I upload ( my msx upload is set at 1 gig) most of these are between 100 and 200 mb. They are mp3s for my podcast. The progress bar stops at 100 percent and never shows the edit link but th enext one will upload as if the last one imported, yet when I go to the media section the files that froze at 100 percent are missing. This has happened more then once over the past 2 days.

but it also happened on the twentyeleven theme as well. do I need to increase my time out in case somethign is timing out? here is a screen shot. by th eway this also happened wiht the add from server plugin. I iliminated that possibality by trying both upload methods under add new media and still it freezes. Here is a link to a screen shot.
