First of all I want to say I think this is a wonderful plugin. But now that the photospace responds to the [gallery] shortcode I love it less. Having the ability to use both resident & photospace gallery types is useful at times and in the recent iteration that is not possible. I can see that in many applications it is preferable to over-ride the resident gallery behavior automatically, but.... Any plans to make this an optional feature?

I don't think so, the way the new gallery system works it would be difficult to integrate the photospace tag into the short code generator.
