    Hi there,

I've just automatically upgraded from 2.7.1 to 2.8 and noticed that some of the widgets in my sidebar (Text Widgets as far as I recall) are not there anymore. They are not in the blog neither in the admin panel... Where are they now? Were they removed by the installation? Are they somewhere else and can be recovered?

    Thanks....

    G

Ok, managed to find a way around this by installing Extended Categories Plugin. At first it didn't work, but they've just updated the plugin and now it's working.

Had the same problem with text boxes. You can recover the text by going to Google and searching for your site but click on the cached version at the bottom of the listing. Then view the page source and you see what your old sidebar code looked like and read the text in the text box widgets.

Put the Text Boxes back in the sidebar and copy the text from the Cached version of your page.

I had to do a reinstall of a few plugins as well but it looks like I am up to speed now. Good Luck!
