Here are some suggestions for Duplicator that would make it a real killer plugin (in my opinion at least πŸ˜‰ ):

    – Allow to add a description to a package (this makes it clearer what the differences are between the different packages)

    – allow selection/deselection of individual plugins/themes when creating and/or restoring a package.

    – Allow one to schedule the creation of packages, so that it actually also becomes an imaging tool.

    – In addition to the above it would also be nice to allow to copy or move the packages after creation to an external system (sftp/ftps, dropbox, etc)

  • Hey gdeschep,

Thanks for the feedback. Some of those items are added to the feature list in upcoming versions. If you know of any PHP developers interested in helping with the project let me know… I could get these items done faster with more help πŸ™‚

The second item on your list is in the next version (0.4.0) if you want to check it out. The very latest version can be found by following these instructions:

    -> Browse to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
-> Look for the section “Other Versions”
-> Click on “Development Version” and download the zip plugin file
-> Uninstall your current version and install this one

Let me know what you think…

    Thanks

Ok, thanks. I’ll take a look at the development version for the second item.

Sounds good. Let me know if you run into any issues…

    – In addition to the above it would also be nice to allow to copy or move the packages after creation to an external system (sftp/ftps, dropbox, etc)

plus one for this. Some kind of auto duplicating and uploading to external server (Dropbox…)

    Hey Bazel,

That feature is on the todo list πŸ™‚

    Thxs
