  • Are you saying that the email is not received or not sent? Do you get an error message when you try to send an email? Can you send an email using the exact same address from outside of CF7?

Dave, thanks for the response! The email is not received to any company email such as info@ or joseph@ etc. (this has actually happened on several wordpress sites that I have used CF7.

Yes, I can send emails fine to these info@ and joseph@ emails outside of CF7.

Before we go any further, please verify that SOME email is sent and received correctly.

Yes, emails are sent and received correctly through these info@ email addresses outside of CF7. Also, CF7 does send emails from submissions to standard gmail or yahoo accounts (I tried both).

When you say that “email is not received to any company address”, what exactly are you saying? Does the company address throw an error message or does the email appear to go, but is never received?

the email appears to be sent from CF7, but is never received.

Modify the form and include yourself as an addressee so that you will receive the email as well. If you do receive the email, but the other addressee does not, that tells me that there is possibly something at the company’s end that is treating your email as spam and is blocking it. They can tell their system that your email address is not spam and should then accept it.

FWIW, I’m using CF7 on an offline development site, set to send email to my own email address (same as WP admin) – and nothing arrives, even though I get a “successfully sent” acknowledgement on the page.

Maybe CF7 email doesn’t work on a localhost? Or maybe it doesn’t like me sending emails to myself?

@chappie – You need a functioning mail server

If you are trying to send emails from any WordPress installation, you will need to make sure you have a functioning mail server setup there.

Note: Local installs (using MAMP, WAMP, XAMPP etc.) often don’t have this capability. Trying to test CF7 email functionality on a local WordPress installation with no mail server capability appears to be a common mistake.
