[resolved] Social Media icons not showing (7 posts)

    I have followed (at least I think I did) the instructions that are there and the icons are still not showing up.

    I have custom icons (location is below)

    blog address: http://blog.chiqueny.com
    path of icons: /blog/wp-content/icons
    example: FB icon http://blog.chiqueny.com/wp-content/icons/facebook.png

    I'm having an issue with the full path. I even tried to follow your example and it didn't work. (and where is the Readme.txt file? you talk about it but there's no link to it--I downloaded WP via GoDaddy)

    Can you help?

    Hello,
    To find the read.txt

    Dashboard/Plugins/Social Media Widget and then click on "Edit"

    About the FULL PATH, do you want to try:

    /home/[Your FTP Username here]/public_html/wp-content/icons

    If it's still not working, you can also use the "Custom Services" option in the widget's panel to set your custom icons.

    Hope this helps,
    Jay

    Hi,

    I went through the readme.txt file - nothing new in there and your suggestions didn't work. I've uninstalled it and found another that work and is more user friendly.

    Thanks

    I'm not the developer of this plugin (but someone who would like to help), so you may want to wait for an official answer from Blink Web Effects. :)

    Cheers,

    The easiest way to find your full (absolute) path is to create a file named pathinfo.php and paste the following code into that file:

    <?php
       $path = getcwd();
       echo "Your Absoluthe Path is: ";
       echo $path;
    ?>

    Now, upload pathinfo.php into the root directory of your website and view it in your browser (example: http://www.mysite.com/pathinfo.php )

    Alternatively, you can try asking GoDaddy to let you know your full path.
