I'm curious if anyone has a list of sites that offer social media buttons for blogs.

I'm using addthis right now but would like something a little more prominent.

I've looked at http://www.sociofluid.com/ which is similar to what i want but does anyone know of any similar buttons?

    Thanks

    Ken

Try searching for "icons" on http://www.smashingmagazine.com/

I have found a ton of buttons i like, however I am not able to write html and have no clue how to make them functional. I'm looking more for a plugin that works with a control panel in the WP admin area.

    Cheers,

    Ken

Sexy bookmarks! just installed these myself, the widget allows loads of bookmarking options and re-ordering, 40+ icons covered. really easy to plug in.

They are more enticing to interact with than standard buttons and look pretty slick, you can see them in action here:

Looks good to me, thanks for the help. I'll try installing this later this week and report back.

    I appreciate it!

    As a follow up question...

If I want to use some custom buttons that I have found I'd like to know if there are any tutorials for non HTML savvy people like me to get those buttons in each blog post and have them link to the proper social media sites.

I found a bunch of very nice buttons here:

But they are not actual plugins just icons.

Without knowing any code Kenk, you'll struggle I think. You could take an existing plug in and swap out the images, but you will still need to tweak the code, and/or know Photoshop.

Just checked out Sociofluid, looks good too, I'd just grab one and get on with the important thing, blogging..

I'm no coder, but can still make a slick looking site with existing plug-ins. I compiled a list of all the plug-ins I found useful, fresh looking here and easy to install here:

Once again thanks for the help and the list too. There are a few plug-ins there that look really useful. Point well taken regarding getting on with the important part... blogging
