   I am trying to get together a nice live soccer world cup update thing for wp- but with no sucess. There is a flash version here but it looks messy :(

   Depends on what you want to display.

   exactscores.com has RSS feeds for scores on soccer, hockey, etc, but they include a bunch of ads in the RSS. Fortunately, those are easily removed. I talk about the subject here:

   pgr.jumpmediagroup.no/pgr.html is just a version of an extended portfolio range, have a look at thetimes.co.uk under world games there u will find a solution with live feed, statistics, live animations of goals etc
