Snippets not saving

    Hi Johan – thanks for this great plugin

    I have about 100 snippets saved in the plugin but now I have hit a problem – it’s not letting me save any new snippets or delete old ones. It doesn’t give me any error message either.

    On the Post Snippets drop down shortcode menu in the Post Editor, I see the latest snippet is called “undefined”. When I try to insert this into a post, nothing shows up.

    I can still insert existing snippets, and they all still work correctly.

    Perhaps a record has corrupted in the database? Can you advise on where I should look for it in there if so?

    Hi,

    Perhaps you can export the snippets, and get the file to me? That would help figure out what has happened.

    Hi Johan and Chris,

    I had the same problem. Added a snippet and when I tried to save it I got a blank screen. Then I remembered that I had installed Better WP Security. I disabled the plugin, updated the snippet then reactivated the security plugin. I have it set to block file changes so I suspect that was my issue.

    Just to update and resolve this thread.

    Thanks to Debra’s tip, I tried switching off my Sucuri Sucurity plugin but the problem persisted. (Which is good in a way as I didn’t want to lose the Sucuri plugin)

    Johan managed to figure it out after examining my exported post snippets file – basically, if you have more than 100 Snippets saved, you might run into my issue which is that you cannot save any further Snippets to the plugin.

    The solution is to go to your php.ini file and change the max_input_vars value from 1000 to 2000 (which will then let you save 200 snippets). If you aren’t comfortable with editing stuff from the command line, you will need to ask your hosting company to do it. (May be an issue for shared hosting).

    Hi,

    I have the same problem of not being able to save or delete snippets, if I try to do that, I get a blank page.

    I only have about 10 snippets. Would love a solution for this problem.
