My smilies don’t show up for any of my themes, and I have them enabled in my admin panel and the files are on the server. Know any causes?

I do find it interesting, when clicking the link to your site under your profile, I get this instead:

Any chance of a hotlink protection issue as the cause of your smiley problem?

it shouldn’t do that. that would only come up if any images hosted on the domain are direct linked off the domain.

when i view my blog, i see the 😛 rather than the emoticon, etc. btw, i need to change that image…. 😉

If you’re certain the setting is enabled (i.e. Options > Writing), then two things I can suggest looking into are:

    1. Disable any text-formatting plugins.

    2. The images exist under wp-includes/images/smilies/ .
