The portfolio menu above the portfolio items is displaying the "slug" instead of the category names. I can't work out how to change this?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ',', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '{' or '$' in C:\inetpub\vhosts\dreamscapedesign.co.uk\beta\wp-content\themes\minimalisto\portfolio-thumbnails.php on line 52

Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming wp-content\themes\minimalisto to wp-content\themes\minimalisto-old using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Re-upload a fresh copy of Twenty Eleven:

I'm sorry I don't understand. I want to use the Minimalisto template, and if I re-upload this one, will it not mess things up for my site?

I can see your site just fine now.

I wasn't having a problem seeing the site, just a problem displaying the category names in the portfolio menu. Look at http://beta.dreamscapedesign.co.uk/?page_id=13 the menu is displaying the "slug" instead of the names

That's a theme issue. As this is a commercial theme whose template files are not freely available, we cannot help. You need to seek support from the theme's vendors.
