Our WordPress installed on a Win2K server ‘inside’ a NAT firewall is performing very slowly from both inside the network and from the public internet. Could this be an issue with the IP configuration in the application, at the moment many of the links point to the ‘internal’ IP, not the external one which is NAT’ed by the firewall?

How would we configure the external IP address into WordPress?

how about locally on the server, is that slow?

generally, performance should have little to do with the networking — especially if you are internal. more likely the machine, config, plugins, etc. is what’s causing it to perform slowly.

    Many thanks for this davidchait!

The system is slow locally as well – where should I start looking to establish the bottleneck?

The system is running Win2k Server, 2.4 GHz P4 processor, 512MB RAM, plenty of hard drive space. There are no other major processes on the box, it is a dedicated web server with pretty much zero traffic at the moment.
