WordPress is free software and this free, volunteer-staffed forum is the only support resource available via wordpress.org. If that is not suitable for your needs, you may want to consider hiring someone instead.
Have you tried:
– switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thank you, esmi. I haven’t done anything, but the page is now loading better. However, when I hit updates, it still gives me an “Internal Server Error” message after a long wait. And of course I don’t understand any of what you said to fix. I have no idea where to find the plug-ins folder or what “files &: folders” or “wp-config.php & root .htasccess files” means. My page is <minorroadtrip.com>. I forgot to include that in the last message. But thank you for your instructions.
Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

Suddenly everything is now working fine. Maybe it was a ghost in the machine. Anyway, thanks for the help.
